Full body cryotherapy originated in Japan in 1978 to treat rheumatoid arthritis. It exposes the body to frozen nitrogen vapors for a maximum of 3 minutes. The ultra-low temperatures, ranging from -200°F to -256 °F, trigger a systemic, anti-inflammatory response. Benefits of full body cryotherapy include decreased inflammation, enhanced athletic performance and recovery, increased energy, improved mood, 500-800 calories burned per session, and an accelerated production of collagen, which improves skin elasticity and texture.
Full body cryotherapy is administered within a single-person JUKA cryosauna by a highly trained Cryo Technician. JUKA is one of the most trusted and recognized cryosaunas on the market. During treatment, the client’s body is exposed to nitrogen vapors, while the head and neck are exposed to the room air above the machine. Because the door does not lock, clients may exit the Cryosauna at any time. The Cryo Technician will also be present throughout the entire treatment process.
Socks, slippers, and gloves must be worn while in the cryosauna and are provided. Robes are also provided, but are removed during the treatment. Underwear must also be worn. Women may wear sports bras, if desired.
